In August of 2006 my mother was diagnosed with cancer that progressed very rapidly, that spring mom passed away. At the same time my father Andrew suffered a stroke. My father spent several weeks in the hospital with rehab to follow; he was then placed for long term in a nursing home. My sisters and I were informed he would remain there indefinitely.
