Admission Criteria
The following criteria must be met for consideration to be admitted to Peter Sanborn Place:
62 years of age or older, or handicapped/disabled
- Income guidelines: The household's annual income must not exceed the current program income limits.*
- Meets and is approved under HUD's tenant screeing criteria (HUD Occupancy Manual 4350.3):
- Landlord Reference
- Credit reference / history of ability to pay rent
- Criminal background check
Preference and priority will be given based on need and unit availability
- Level of Support III - (35 Units) - Meets criteria of Managed Care of Group Adult Foster Care Programs, needing personal care and homemaking assistance daily
- Level of Support II - ( 25 Units) Meets criteria of needing personal care and homemaking assistance on a weekly scheduled program
- Level of Support I - (13 Units) Meets criteria of living without support services or chooses to use support services on an as-needed basis
Documentation will be needed as evidence to support Priority Preference. If preference should change while on the wait list, documentation of change should be submitted for updating. If questions or concerns should arise regarding preference criteria, Mystic Valley Elders Services will provide an assessment of determination. Applicants will be screened for level of needs, not MVES income guidelines.
*Current income guidelines: For 2010- Income not to exceed $32,150 for an individual; $36,750 for a couple, annually. Interest on assets will be calculated as income. These Guidelines are subject to change.
Peter Sanborn Place is mandated and operates under the Federal and State Fair Housing Guidelines.
